The Gardens - Francis and Eirik

the-norwegian-knight:

Of all places that others would think the Norwegian would be fond of, one would never think a garden. Eirik had a tough exterior, and he never really seemed to be all that gentle (unless it pertained to his younger brother, of course). But when it came to flowers, another side of him seemed to show. Purple Heathers he found to be his favorite. And lucky for him there were plenty present in the garden at the castle.

Eirik made his way out and into the garden, looking about at the flowers that greeted him. The Heathers were located farther into the garden, but  Eirik would take his time. He would always take his time. Always.

So, he began his decent through the garden, fingers tracing upon the bushes that were coated with the season’s flowers as he walked. There were vibrant pinks and blues. There were beautiful reds and yellows. But then… There was something else. Something that was not a flower.

A human, tall and blond. Eirik paused in his steps, one eyebrow raised just slightly above the other as he looked the other male up and down. He’d rarely come across others in the beautiful gardens, so this was a bit of a shock to him.

"Hallo." He muttered in a greeting. Surely he’d seen this man before. Something seemed familiar about him. But the Norwegian wasn’t able to quite place it.

The garden was always the place Francis would automatically choose to go if there was nowhere else to be. The atmosphere was serene, and the garden was full of greenery and life, a source of energy and growth. It was all poetic, really, and he liked it very much.

He had begun a habit of daily walks when he had the time, strolling around and admiring the beauty of the large place. There was so much to see, Francis still hadn’t seen even a third of it, he was sure. But that was perfectly fine, he had the time while the competition continued on for now. More than enough opportunity to literally stop and smell the roses.

His walks were sometimes peaceful; on the other hand, they were often enough interrupted by others enjoying the beautiful weather. As he observed a figure down the path, approaching him, he assumed today would be one of the latter days. Well, Francis never considered the company a bad thing and would welcome it warmly.

Conversation was always interesting witht he more involved kinds of people, and he was certain that this man would be part of such a group — he recognized him from having seen glimpses of him afar, but he couldn’t recall his name. It was on the tip of his tongue, but it was go good — he would simply have to get an introduction the good and proper way.

"Ah, bonjour!" Francis returned with a smile. He offered a little wave. "I do not believe we have met officially! I am Francis Bonnefoy."

Eirik sighed, his shoulders falling a little. At least he didn’t completely hate the Frenchman. “Fine. I shall tell you mine if you tell me yours first.”

"Gladly," he leaned forward, so as to whisper in his ear, "amrûn mela. I trust you will guard this for me, hm?”

As Francis leaned forward, Eirik leaned back a bit. His eyes blinked a few times, the Norwegian not having expected such closeness. Though, when the secret was told, he nodded. All right. That was it. “Ja, I suppose I can keep it. Do you need mine?”

"That would be much appreciated, merci~!" He straightened himself with a wink.

Eirik raised an eyebrow at that, head tilting to the side. “Do not wink at me.” He said before leaning in slightly. “Tîn arn.”

He laughed, raising his hands as if in surrender. “Desolé, desolé! Thank you for your secret, I shall treasure it while I still can. Good day, darling!”

Gladly, darling. Ladies first, as they say!

Come now, Francis, you know me better than that. I won’t be taking my chances.

Shame. I thought our bond was stronger than this, but perhaps I was wrong. Must I do the honors?

Oh, don’t be so dramatic. You know I have… well, control issues. So yes, if you would be so kind, do the honors.

Very well, my dear. I am trusting you, like my family did with our lives once before. I hope you will not disappoint. “Amrûn mela”.

Have I ever? My secret is Míriel.

Lovely, merci~!

Of course, my dear. I am listening!

Gelir. You need to keep this word safe, do you understand? I hope you don’t betray my trust, Frank—ancis..

Very well, I shall. Merci~!

vulcanspride:

Hm… gee… I dunno, dude. Can’t trust no one around here, you know? But I guess I’d be willing to trade a secret for a secret… you just gotta go first.

That is indeed true on some levels, but I promise I am. Perhaps, euh, if you promise me as well, in particular on keeping your end of the deal, and my secret is yours.

Yes, of course! I’m afraid I don’t have anything to tell you, though… But I won’t tell anyone else!

Lovely! “Amrûn mela”. I trust you will keep it private between the two of us. You have my gratitude!

Um, you’re welcome! It’s no problem, really. Your secret’s safe with me.

I appreciate it greatly~!

Frank? || Li and Francis

theemotionlessking:

Socializing was a bit difficult for Li. He knew this, but a rather friendly bloke (whose name Li couldn’t exactly remember) had invited him to lunch. Where? Li had no idea. It was risky of him to not plan this rendezvous himself, to check to see whether the restaurant (or wherever they were going) was safe, to not even ask for the man’s name! Things in this competition were going great, apparently. He needed to be more amiable, needed to befriend people and become known. He needed to… to iron this robe eventually because there was a crease in it and now it’s going to bother him for the rest of the day! See? This is what happens when he doesn’t hang them up correctly!

In the middle of his mental scolding, Li spotted Fr-Frank? Is that it? He waited patiently for the man to approach before extending a hand and saying, “Hello, I’m Li, if you’ve forgotten. We’re supposed to be going to lunch together.”

Lunch was the perfect way to entertain company. Especially company who could be a potential ally for the competition of royalty, a friend. He had arranged the meeting in a rather quaint public restaurant, one that was decently popular, but that would also be an ideal choice for private conversation.

He waited at the meeting place they had agreed on, and Li was thankfully not one to run late, it seemed. Promising.

It was intriguing to observe how the other man didn’t move forward to greet him, but instead made Francis himself approach. A tactic that seemed to scream royalty. In the very least, he had some of the attitude down.

"Ah, yes, hello! I’m glad you were able to come," he shook his hand warmly with a smile, "Francis Bonnefoy, at your service! Now, I have a place in mind just down the street here. I think it will appeal to your tastes!"
